I’m not gonna lie, I like the ‘let’s get back to work’ energy of September. It’s productive, efficient, it’s the new start without all the “New Year-New You” resolution guilt attached to it. We go back to school in September. We get down to business in September.
But maybe even with all this fresh start energy, we can pause for a moment to marinate in gratitude and joy, noticing the little things. Like the way the light has changed and we’re now drinking our coffee in the dark, or the sharp turn of the air, and the way everything, though still green looks tired, spent. As if it is ready to retire itself and allow a new season to enter.
These transitional months are my favorite because they make me pay attention. They make me notice.
